Beach Photos

So after our trip to Mt Cootha, we decided to go for an even longer drive to Dicky Beach (yup, that's the real name, lol) up on the Sunshine Coast. Again, since the day was already overcast, it was even less of a fantastic day to go to the beach, but I got some photos that I was quite happy with. Here's the first of them.

Final photos from Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens

Last lot of these series, hehe.

More Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens

And here's a few more photos from the Botanical gardens. I'm not quite sure why the first two photos are rotated....they aren't on my computer....*shrugs*

Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens

So, after driving back down from the Mt Cootha lookout, we stopped at the botanical gardens. Lovely place - I want to go back there again, but make sure my boyfriend has his knee support with him this time, so he can walk further, hehe. Lots more of these flower pictures to come from this little trip :)

More Mt Cootha

Here's some photos from some of the picnic areas as you travel back down from Mt Cootha. We'll have to go back there someday when it's really sunny, but not too hot, and have a picnic there :)
The one thing I was most surprised at was the water....some of it was actually running in the little creeks/streams. Considering we were (well, still are really) in a drought! Dam levels are up to their highest level in 3 years, I heard on the radio today!

Photos from Mt Cootha

Here's some photographs that I took, looking out from the Mt Cootha lookout in Brisbane. It was a little overcast, as you'll see, but the views are amazing. You can look right out to the city and to the Brisbane River. Again, click on these to see them at full-size.

More Photographs

I wasn't going to post any of my older images here, but this is one of my favourites. This is my boyfriend's hand holding mine. I did a little bit of editting in PSP on this one - sepia-toning and blurring of the background, but that's it.

And now onto some other photos. These ones were taken in my own garden, also back in May.

Older photographs

Right! It's time to use this blog as I'd intended it to be - for posting my photographs.

I've decided that I'm not going to repost any of the images that are currently up on my DeviantArt account, so there are some of my photos there. This blog will be for all those images that I have't got around to posting on DA.

Here are a few that I took in my Granny's garden back in May. Please click on them to see them at the original size. There's a couple of photos that have rotated themselves, and I don't know why....

My Introduction

Well, I finally did it. I created a blog. My primary purpose was to find somewhere that I could post my photographs that was a little more user-friendly than DeviantArt (http://sezysairs.deviantart.com). I simply can't stand how long it takes to upload each picture there. So I thought I'd try the blog-pathway.

So, a little about me and my photography.
Firstly, I'm definately an amateur photographer. You could even call me a hobby photographer. I have a very basic camera (a Canon PowerShot A430, 4mp) and that's it. No fancy cameras here, that's for sure. I have a full-time job as a laboratory technician at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. I also create tags in PSP, and dabble a little with vexelling.
I have been interested in photography for quite a while now, but I never really realised how keen I was until quite recently. I'd love to get a better camera, and spend more time actually learning how to take really good photos, but for now, dabbling is fine :)
Most of my photos are of flowers, close-ups of flowers and a little bit of landscapes. I've got a couple of animal photos, but I haven't had a true opportunity to experiment with them, so I haven't got too many. Not decent, close-up ones anyway.

And that's about it about my photography.
